Welcome to the Highlander's Experience. Are you looking for something different to entertain your guests/clients while they are in Scotland? The Highlander brings to life Scottish History in an entertaining and informative show. Dressed in the traditional costumes of the times and carrying authentic weapons and equipment, the Highlander will allow them to gain a true sense of the past in a location of your choosing.

2012 is my 14th year as the Highlander. It is my 11th season on The Royal Scotsman train and at the Carnegie Club at Skibo Castle and my 13th year onboard the Hebridean Princess. Much of my winter work is with schools and this is also my 14th year working with Primary Schools throughout the North of Scotland bringing History & Science to life.

After the success in 2008 of the TV series Highlands (STV & The History Channel) where I was involved as Historical Consultant as well as co-writing and appearing in front of camera, in 2009 I have appeared in a BBC 2 series called Britannia talking about the Highlands in the 16th Century.

The October 2008 edition of Prestige magazine (Singapore Edition) had a four page article about the Royal Scotsman train and described my performance onboard the train as follows :

" After dinner it's time to return to the observation car to relive a little of Scotland's fascinating past and colourful heroes, as told through one of the greatest living storytellers Ray Owens. Dressed in traditional 18th Century Highland dress, he weaves his animated tale around Bonnie Prince Charlie and the battles that were fought to preserve true Scottish heritage".
